Hi Keyshot Community!
I am new to Keyshot and I am trying to figure out how to make surface bubbles above coffee in a pot exactly like this reference image. Has anyone created something similar before and know how to reproduce this effect? I tried a displacement but was getting weird effects.

So, this would probably be a pretty big challenge. You can create bubbles in KeyShot. You can control the density of them with a color gradient pretty easily. But the bubbles need to be within a volume, you can’t create bubbles just resting on a surface, which is where I think you’ll have a challenge. Also, making them blend into the liquid below will also be a challenge. I’d rely on another application to model them with a particle system. Probably a Blender job.
Maybe someone more creative than me has a solution for you.
Also, I see you just bought the KeyShot Rendering Masterclass. Feel free to reach out to me directly if you have any questions.

I appreciate the response Will! I’ll investigate blender.
The course is great by the way. I just purchased the animation one as well
@max.irvine Oh, cool! I hope you learn a lot. I appreciate the support

@max.irvine Model a ring for the bubbles and use the “Flakes” Geometry Shader, under the “Flake Shape” select “Sphere” and “Flakes Only”. Note, the outline of the ring in the screenshot so you have an idea of the scale.

Nice. From the right angle, this probably would work well!
